Welcome to the Getting a Good Reading Series! How's that for a boring and generic introduction? I know, I probably could do better but seriously it is a Friday afternoon, I'm working late and rocking out to Joan Jett, my creative well is a little dry. So basically this post is to introduce a series I am going to be writing over the next little while about how to get a good reading. For those of you scratching your head I am referring to a good Psychic reading, a good Oracle Card reading or a Good Tarot reading.
So who the fuck am I to tell you how to get a good reading... well I'm a witch (duh), not enough expertise? Ok I have seen multiple readers, some that were so mind bogglingly terrific that I was amazed they weren't booked a year in advance, some so bafflingly terrible that I am amaze their cards didn't just spontaneously combust from their touch and everything in between. Still not enough expertise for you, ok been a reader for 13 years, been reading professionally for a few years, have taken courses and read multiple books on readings and have taught others to do reading. And if that's still enough for you then you are way to picky and need to find another blog to read.
The first post is going to be all about choosing the right reader for you. There are so many different types of people out there, which means a lot of different types of readers. We are going to talk about how to tell a good/ethical reader vs. a charlatan, how to find a reader who's personality meshes well with yours and some questions to ask so that you can find your best reader.
The next post we are going to delve into how to get the most out of your reading. This one is a little harder as some of this will depend on the type of reader you choose but there are things you can do to ensure that you get the most out of your reading. There are good questions to ask and then there are others that will make a reader want to pull their hair out.
And the final post is how to not piss off your reader. Readers are humans too and we have things that piss us off, or at the very least distract the hell out of us. We will talk about the ethics of getting a reading (the ethics of the reader is covered in Post 1). I'll give you some tips and tricks on what makes a person a delight vs. a nightmare to read for.
I want you to be able to walk away from the reading with both you and your reader having an amazing experience! I want you to come away with the answers you are looking for (or at the very least some useful advice) and for your reader to feel fired up and passionate about their readings and eager to go help the next person (let's face it, a good reader isn't in this for the money we'd starve to death if we were). See you next post!
